We are a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, a communion of over 5 million baptized Christians from coast to coast. Lutheran churches form the largest Protestant denomination worldwide. Our life as a congregation is centered in the good news that in Jesus the Christ God has loved, forgiven, and reconciled humankind which is estranged by sin from each another and from God. We believe the Bible brings us this good news and is God's dependable witness to us. Our spiritual journey involves learning to trust our lives to this good news and to tell others about it.
Since 1850 Salem Lutheran Church has ministered in the Delmont community. It has had a distinguished past which includes the ministry of many Pastors since its founding. We presently have over 350 communing members of diverse backgrounds. A stranger stepping through the doors of Salem is a stranger only once. We are a friendly congregation, glad to offer hospitality to our neighbors.
