We, the people of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, are called by the
Holy Spirit to be a community of faith:
We gather to hear God's Word and welcome God's presence in the Sacraments.
We learn God's promise of eternal life from Scripture and tradition.
We nurture one another as we grow in insight and in our commitment to be stewards of the earth, our lives, and the Gospel.
We are called by the Holy Spirit to reach out as a ministering community:
-- We serve others by making our faith active in love
-- We work for justice and peace among our neighbors throughout the world
-- We support our church in this community and throughout the world by giving generously of our time and talents
-- We teach the good news of God's love freely given in Jesus Christ
-- We invite others to join us
